well, about sunday race, i run bad i would say?

c'mon cs u can do better than that!

i know i can.

i was running a 200m race.

first 100m went relatively well, and the next 50m, starting to lose my posture for running tall. eventually, next 50m i was kinda running like a pancake.

luckily i did not embarrass myself i still came in 2nd in my heat and 11th overall.

ah ran with my dear friend lynette again! and as usual, she wins=) she's fast okay?

well, let's talk about the present. adam khoo's talk.

The True Story

Stories are swirling over a girl named Emma who allegedly committed suicide on Christmas eve, 2008, as the result of some Facebook status update messages aimed at her. The status update messages directed at “Emma” are indeed horrible (see image below), however, there is doubt that a girl named Emma actually committed suicide on Christmas eve, or at all, even though a Facebook fan page entitled “Teenager committed SUICIDE because of THIS status update – Leaked from 2008″ would have you think otherwise. However, the story does match quite closely the suicide of Phoebe Prince, which occurred this January.

The question of whether someone named Emma was on Facebook in 2008, and committed suicide as a result of Facebook messages to her, is raised by a relatively new Facebook fan page, entitled “Teenager committed SUICIDE because of THIS status update – Leaked from 2008″. The Facebook fan page was created, it claims, to raise awareness of cyberbullying and to put a stop to cyberbullying.

The page has an image of the alleged messages, with a strategic section crossed out, saying that you have to “BECOME A FAN TO SEE FULL PIC”.

(Our image below shows the full set of messages, with nothing crossed out.)

This is known as a “squeeze” in marketing parlance, however it’s rather unusual on a Facebook fan page (not unheard of, but unusual – especially for such a supposedly altruistic effort).

Here is the interesting bit: The page claims that this happened in 2008. However, if you look at the image, you can clearly see that two people “liked” the messages (gave them a Facebook thumbs-up).

Now, Facebook only rolled out the new “like” button a few weeks ago.

So, almost certainly this entire thing is a hoax.

In addition, if you search for any of the sentences shown in the image, Google finds nothing at all. That’s unheard of for Facebook status messages, which are indexed very quickly by Google. It’s possible that these were messages within private accounts, but if a girl named Emma had actually committed suicide over a year ago over these messages, you can be sure the messages would be posted somewhere that Google could find it.

This all adds up to the Facebook page claiming “Teenager committed SUICIDE because of THIS status update – Leaked from 2008″ being a hoax, at best, and a trap at worst. (On the other hand, the story of Phoebe Prince is all-too-real. Phoebe committed suicide this Janary after being tormented by several classmates, much of it on Facebook. Nine teens and juveniles are now facing charges for her death.)

What do we mean by trap?

Given the questionable nature of the page, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that this page will play on your heart strings to get you to click on the “join” link, only to download a Facebook virus to your computer.

Our advice? Avoid this page. If you want to do something about cyberbullying, check out sites like Stop Cyberbullying.org instead.

Phoebe Prince died in an apparent suicide, after incessant bullying by classmates at the 700-student high school.

Phoebe Prince, a recent Irish immigrant, hanged herself Jan. 14 after nearly three months of routine torment by students at South Hadley High School, via text message, and through the social networking site, Facebook.
Prince, a freshman, was reportedly harassed by older girls who resented her dating an older football player. Her death shook the town of South Hadley and prompted the Massachusetts legislature to pass a law introducing an anti-bullying curriculum in the state's public schools.
Northwestern District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel said Prince's bullying was the result of a romantic relationship she had with one of the male suspects that ended weeks prior to her suicide.
Scheibel called Prince's suicide "the culmination of a nearly three-month campaign of verbally assaultive behavior and threats of physical harm." In at least one instance she was attacked when a girl pelted her with a soft drink can.
"The investigation revealed relentless activity directed toward Phoebe, designed to humiliate her and to make it impossible for her to remain at school," Scheibel said. "The bullying, for her, became intolerable."
"Nevertheless, the actions — or inactions — of some adults at the school are troublesome," she said.
The district attorney said school administrators knew of the bullying but none would be charged.
Prince hanged herself in her home, days after accepting an invitation to a winter school dance and only months after emigrating to the small western Massachusetts town from Ireland. Her younger sister found Prince's body in the stairwell leading to the family's second-story apartment.
Six of the teens will be indicted on charges connected to Prince's suicide. Three of the indicted students are girls, charged with violating Prince's civil rights, criminal harassment and disturbing a school assembly.
Two of the indicted students, a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, will also be charged with statutory rape. Criminal complaints were filed against three other students.
Of the six indicted students, three are still students at the school and three were expelled in February.
"These students' lives have also been dramatically altered, and they won't be graduating from South Hadley High School," Principal Daniel T. Smith said at the time.

sorry about the jumbled up pictures. well, went to clarence house the other day with doris, haojie and hweehan after discussing our plans for track camp =)

Just so you know, i think that venezia is better than frolicks, because they serve bigger portions at a lower price not to mention inclusive of toppings. well they both taste about the same, so obviously i'll go for the one with a greater deal.

hate my camera phone! though its 5 megapixel, the quality of the picture seem really low. ahhhh =(

anw, i went tuition today and came across this again! the completed work! =) wowowowowow!

i've been reflecting recently, i guess i've really been a bad person.

ah, no matter wad, god always put me in a situation such that i MUST do wadever it is to remain a 'Holy' person.

seriously ALWAYS.

ever since young, he challenges me in so many ways.

to prevent my nose from sticking up too high into the sky.

whenever i become "BAD" he throws in things to make sure i humble up or wad-so-ever.

which is good i guess, a blessing.

if not for that i might be a mega cruel and nasty person.

that only care about myself.

i guess i would without all those things he challenges me.

i often complain to god how miserable life is that he put me through especially emotionally.

and i really dun think i deserve it. I'm guessing he has something big later in life for me den if i accomplish the challenges.

i used to think, everytime u hear things like becoming a pastor, missionary, or worship team or something, i'll go like, eeyer, i'll never do it in my life.

but now i've yet to look at it differently ,

although NOT pastor though, i'm not tt holy and stuff yet.

but the other two seem appealing.

i just wanna spend my life worshiping god.

i want the people around me to feel the love of you lord Jesus, and come with me and know u more.

i really dunno what my life would be in another 5 years, and i'm still unsure of my future.

i screwed up my life.

i notice the change in me alr. i know i'm becoming worse than become and i dun seem to be able to reach god.

i wish that all distractions will be gone. everything.

BTW, here are some things i promised myself i'll NEVER do since young around kindergarten:

well, went tuition the other day and thought tt this was interesting=)

my mother and brother , haha=)

well, anyway back to the point, yeah! meicheng's birthday,

i was inspired by a cheese wrapper holding a recipe of cheesecake heheh!

so i decided to do it for the very first time for my dear dear meicheng =)

anyway, i modified the recipe a little and made it into oreo cheesecake my fav!

my hand was rather dirty so i only took a couple of pictures

not really the process though.

i crushed the digestive biscuits and add butter to it. and let it chill in the fridge.

meanwhile,mix the cheese until soft than add the gelatine mixture (3 teaspoon with 1/4 of boiling water) and finally crushed oreos and stir well! =)

spread the yummy mixture into the crust that was just made .

garnish with a dash of crushed oreos =)

and leave it to chill for a few hours or overnight=)

AND....

after coach's talk to me i'm so freaking determined to get into a jc below 10pts.

well, to start with, at least i have a goal.

i wanna fully rely on my academic skills.

i believe i can do it!=)

but i will need to put everythin else aside=)

track stuff has been frustrating me recently,

as a captain,sometimes i feel like i fail to do my job well.

soon had history passed, and the 1st ever yog games over...

had a great day at the Youth Olympics Village

then, we got a chance to watch the athletics finals=)

ahh! the people there so muscular and slim!

ookay... =) was a weird experience there as our $10 seats did not get us tt much of a satisfaction of the view .... anyway i felt so honored to have ran on the very same tracks as those that seem to have achieved much more than i do. like hey dudes, here's the track we used to suffer on.

and like hey babes, rmb how we got our first national medal here? =)

ahh... all good things will come to an end eventually.=)

so far, nothin in the world proves to me to last.

the lighted candle will melt and the fire will die off, and all that remains are the disfigured wax of the candle.

the flowers will bloom,fragrant it might be, but not for long.soon it will wither and fall off the plant, decaying into the dark surface of earth.

the kites would fly up so high, but how high and how long would it last at that peek? it'll come down eventually, or lost forever and never found.

so what is there to rely on is only left with god isn't it?

he will never turn his back on you no matter what happens.

anyway sports day is coming=) and i'm still wondering wad events should i take? =/

sometimes i feel that the world is totally unfair. =(

anyway, i discovered that my horrible figure comes from sports.

fat thighs- track because- sprinter.(notice that most distant runners are slim) totally unfair.
fat arms especially my right arm- tennis

and i think i've been doin my workouts wrongly=) ahah!
like , i do so many sit ups my tummy also not flat enough =(
i think i've been using my back muscles all the while.
and when i do push ups, i dun think i use my arm muscles as much as my tummy muscles. how ridiculous!

some trackmates and i are gonna literally train like hell from next training=) FINALS MAN! next year! gonna train my stamina like crazy for the 4x400m next year=) not sure whose gonna be in yet though.! but i'm kinda confident?

well... all in all... this camp was a enriching one.

the following are only the essence from the obs camp:

well... first day was pretty much packing for the 3 days expedition and getting to know each other more... and learning how to kayak and jetty jump!

wth? so many ppl dun believe tt i'm from track.

they thought that i was from some kind of dance society or something.

haha good good!=)i got the dancer face.

well it happens for the famine camp as well..

i shall try taking up dance some day.=)

AND

freak sia! the bag damn heavy like 20kg? probably half my weight.

i couldn't lift myself up at all, i only did so with the help of 2 person pulling me up!

den we did high elements stuff hehe!

den we trek to a forested place and laid our night there. WILD Bore and monkeys

and we trek from dawn to the sunsets!

day 2:

we had to trek from dawn to the evenings

well but in between there was an extremely heavy downpour so we had to stop.

gosh! we were drenched, cold, hungry and our feets were sore and tired by that time we started trekking again. to add on, and dun forget that we're all carrying a bag that weights about 20kg!luckily a kind soul offered to help. thank u marcus!=)

he carried my 2L bottle=) haha relived a little.but a little makes a great difference when ure walking this far and much !

gosh he really reminds me of my cousin. big eyes and tan. and the way he talk is also very logical.

haha really resembles my cousin.

okay.. we started distracting ourselves from reality by singing and cheering all sorts of crappy stuff.. but it was fun! and throughout this journey i realized tt i whine a lot sia! not the usual me i would say.

a weak point spotted.! i gotta do something about it.the whole journey seem like eternity. god i pray that the mozzies would just all die.

soon enough, we were kinda immune to the bites. and at some places, the mosquitoes were so hungry that when they feast on u, u could actually feel them on u. and like duh! u smash them when u see them.

wonder how the locals at ubin handle this?

like insect repellent also not much use.

by that time we reached the different campsite, we were practically half dead. well for me that it. i was kept trying to be positive by saying" keep goin guys.. all the way! we're reaching" and that goes on for more than an hour or so lols.

pretty hilarious though. coz i really dunno how long more.

den at night about 12 plus i was assigned to do the night watch with my tent mates

but 2 were already sound asleep.

den i met this guy called shuan.

and we chat about supernatural stuff.

god! he can see spirits. but only after 2345 every day.

super scary his story. summore at our campsite was at the seaside. and he saw one coming out of the waters. den he started seeing more and more around.

den out of curiosity, i asked " what are they doing now?"

he ans" he replied "just walking around"

O.O

i was w/o my lens den.

thank god i dun see any of those then.

i dun wish to see as well.

that guy is like so used to seeing it.

scary sia, if i were him i sleep before 2345 everyday.

ask me and i'll share his ghostly stories with u. i'm way too lazy to type out here.=X

the following day,

we kayak from dawn to 5.30.

we had to push our triyaks through mud and i spotted a floating shit on the surface of the water of the mangrove swamp.x.x

yes... all the geog knowledge of prop roots and all were in 3D hehe.

spiders falling off from trees and landed on me like twice.

gotta do the matrix way when we were under the trees. it was so low! kinda fun at first but annoying after many times especially when other boats bang onto ur causing u to do such stuffs.

we could hardly rest as the current was going strong against us.

yes again.. i whine and whine because i was at a very uncomfortable position.

mud all over,guy behind me irritates me at times because he swears and swears. tell u wad, i swear i'll tear his mouth at the point of time.

so vulgar for wad sia... not like we can help it.

den i start to whine when he swears and all like waalao! or haiz...

den he started to act encouraging like "gals, u can do it, go faster"

i was like *wth* like din u just swear about the weather and all a second ago?

and other triyaks that hit us like bumper triyak and made us go wrong direction or get stuck in the mud, hit a tree and get scratch. etc...

pissed me off like mad den. but cant blame them though.

like u make the direction and all until so nice den their collision waste all ur effort.haha shiny's triyak espcially! keep going zic-zac den bang everyone.

and i got frustrated whenever xinyee or that guy hits me by accident with their paddles. yea sorry about tt though, i was just not in the mood.

when the current was calmer,

i started singing all sorts of songs to numb myself from all the scorching heat and itchiness from the mud. and the sore arms i had.

finally, out of the current and into the sea!

we were like all whoohoo!!!!!!

at last sia. haha den i managed to achieve something i always wanted to do.

singing the song "still" while triyaking in that kind of beautiful surrondings.

super nice sia. everything fits the song.

summore got eagles flying above and hills tt look so moutainiee and the sky so blue and the waves moving up and down causing the roller coaster effect, still got the wave crashing sounds!

then, one thing spoilt all tt holiness!

haha! the instructor says." who needs to go and use the toilet pls jump down of ur triyak and do wadever u need to"

lols! and a few guys did so lol.. and for that stretch of water i did not dare to touch the water or having any contact with it.

along the journey as we triyak.

some sort of fish, somewhat about my middle finger long, they have needle-like mouth like mini sword fishes. a school of them were jumping out of the blue waters and some poke my friends! ahaaa their reaction were so hilarious to watch. and i manage to touch one of them while helping her to remove it from her triyak.so cute...

like half the journey my back was in great itchiness and pain.

hehe! same feeling as sunburn as described by my friend. my exposed area such as my leg nvr get sia... how could my back get?

den later i discovered that it was sunrash!

gosh! the record of getting sunburn in my life has nvr been broken.

so happy! hehe

because i was wearing total 'blackness' that day. my shirt was cotton black, the track windbreaker, coz they insisted on long sleeves and pants, and an ugly track pants.

HEATTTTT..........................

den tt malay guy wanted to race with another boat i was really like "WTH?! so tired already sia... and still a long way to go" nuts sia... so showoff for wad...

pissed. i stopped my paddle den i said dunwan la... so tired already...

den he kept insisting on the race...

the feeling when we reached our destination was simply marvelous!

well... looking back i felt a great sense of accomplishment!

den we trek back and tt night we only had our"mat" thingy and the flysheet.

super cold... just at the shore there. summore i nvr open up my sleeping bag... and at my position, no flysheet was at my feet area, so all wind could get in and freeze me.

the instructor told us 1 thing before we slept that struck my conscious.

i realised that i was just like the egg he mentioned.

egg: soft and kind and loving on the outside.

but when its boiled in the water, (water resembles challenges and problems)

it gets hard in the inside, so it becomes means and harsh to others.

he said coffebean and carrot as well.. but i'm lazy to type out.=) maybe u can ask me if ure interested.

yea i guess i did that during the journey.

gosh.... i feel so bad...kept getting angry with ppl that are slow and clumsy.

all in all i must thank poor xinyee haha=) i think i very bad to her during this camp. but she very persistent when paddling the triyak.coz at many times unknowingly, she was the only one triyaking! =X

last day and all was pretty much on reflection, cleaning up and goodbyes.

my group lost about $24 worth of camping items. heheh... pay up dudes.

sad case.=) i lost my right lens, my ribbon clip and somethin else, i cant remember now.

and... i survive mainly on energy bar most of the time.

haha=) sadly no weight lost. =/

anyway, its getting late...

well, had 200m today, hehe i QUALIFIED!=D

the wait before the race was filled with anxiety, cant stand tt stuffy track pants. so i took it off to warm up=)

kept worrying when i was in the call room, i was afraid that i would not be able to run fast enough because i lacked moral support. sort of...

den i prayed to god. =)
well, results were better than expected=) i manage to break my pb. now running 28.54. overall position 12th.

thank god! praise the lord!

looking forward for monday's 100m race but worrying as well. =/
